The original name of the locality, as also indicated in the nautical maps, is “Pozzo”. Like the famous spot of Gran Canaria pozo izquierdo. This name, which probably owes its origins to the numerous wells present. Given the presence of aquifers, it translates into the dialect "puzzu", from which "puzziteddu" which means small well.
