Piazza del Popolo Latina

Latina is located in the heart ofAgro Pontino, in a largely flat area. The city center is located a few kilometers (about seven) from the Tyrrhenian sea along via del Lido up to the Marina di Latina, the sea area of ​​the city, with its promenade and the beaches of Capoportiere, Foce Verde and Rio Martino, also reachable via a modern cycle path, and about 15/20 km from the mountain ranges of the Lepini mountains. Its municipal territory, among the largest in Lazio, also includes numerous "foundation villages“, Agricultural centers created during the reclamation of the  swamps, often starting from pre-existing nuclei, which in ancient times covered it (Borgo Sabotino, first Passo Genovese; Borgo Isonzo; Borgo San Michele; Borgo Faiti; Borgo Grappa; Borgo Carso; Borgo Podgora, first Sessano; Borgo Bainsizza; Borgo Santa Maria; Borgo Bainsizza Le Ferriere; Borgo Piave; Borgo Montello). 
A part of its territory is part of the protected areas of Circeo National Park, where the Fogliano lake, of which it forms the extreme northern edge.
